Writing Better Prompts

Simple patterns that get better results from every tool, with examples you can copy.

The basic recipe

Good prompts are specific. Describe what you want, how it should look or sound, and what to avoid. Write it as you would brief a person, in full sentences.

  • Subject: who or what, with a few concrete details.
  • Setting: where and when, and the lighting or atmosphere.
  • Style: photo, illustration, 3D, anime, cinematic, watercolour…
  • Composition: close-up, wide shot, from above, centred.

Change one thing at a time. If a result is close, keep the prompt and adjust a single detail rather than starting over.

Images

Product photo

A matte black coffee tumbler on a light oak table, soft morning window light from the left, shallow depth of field, clean minimal background, commercial product photography.

Illustration

A cozy anime-style bookshop on a rainy evening, warm lamps glowing through the windows, a cat sleeping on a stack of books, soft pastel colours, detailed background.

Edit with references

Keep the person from Image 1 exactly the same, change the background to a sunny beach and the outfit to a white linen shirt.

Videos

Describe the action over time and the camera, not just a still picture. One clear action per video works best.

Scene with camera move

A red vintage car drives along a coastal road at sunset, the camera follows from the side and slowly rises to reveal the ocean, cinematic, golden light.

Animate a first frame

The girl in the photo turns her head toward the camera and smiles, her hair moves gently in the wind, the background stays still.

Music and voice

Music

An upbeat summer pop song about a road trip with friends, bright acoustic guitar, hand claps, catchy chorus, female vocals.

Voice

Read this like a friendly radio host, energetic but clear: Welcome back! Today we have three new tips to make your mornings easier.

Chat

Tell the AI who it should be, what you need, and the format you want back. Give examples when you can.
